Advantages and disadvantages of common customized boards for the entire house
Six common boards on the market: solid wood board, ecological board, multi-layer board, density board, European pine board, and particle board

Solid wood board

There are many varieties, mainly including red oak, white wax wood, rubber wood, walnut, elm, etc. The advantages are high environmental protection and good quality, but the disadvantage is that it is expensive. It is commonly used to make cabinet bodies and doors, and it is easy to crack and deform after making cabinet doors for a long time. (ps: Solid wood boards are not necessarily made of logs, logs are a whole piece of wood, and solid wood boards are generally processed from wooden strips or blocks)

Ecological board

Also known as large core board or blockboard, it is glued out of wooden blocks or strips, and when viewed from the side, it is the cross-sectional area of the wood. Due to its inherent characteristics, it is not possible to make cabinet doors that are too long, which can easily deform and have poor nail grip. The advantage is that the surface is flat, easy to process, and woodworking can be done. The disadvantages are easy deformation, soft texture, poor nail grip, and easy edge collapse. Commonly used to make cabinet bodies, it is not recommended to make cabinet doors. (PS: Cabinet doors can also be made, but only short cabinet doors can be made)

Multilayer board

Also known as plywood, as the name suggests, it is a board that is glued together with multiple layers of wood. It is similar to an ecological board, but it uses more glue and looks a bit like a wafer biscuit from the side. The advantages are good moisture resistance, high strength, and good load-bearing capacity, while the disadvantages are high adhesive content and easy deformation. Commonly used to make cabinet bodies, not suitable for making cabinet doors. (PS: Commonly used cabinets, but formaldehyde content is difficult to control, try to choose a large brand)

Density board

Also known as fiberboard, it is made by bonding wood fibers or other plant fibers. The higher the density, the better the quality. The advantage is that it can be shaped and has good flatness, while the disadvantage is that it has low strength, poor moisture resistance, and is prone to water absorption and expansion. Commonly used to make cabinet doors, not suitable for cabinet bodies. (PS: Only density boards or logs can be used for doors with shapes.)

Ousong board

The interior of the Ousong board is particularly similar to that of the particle board, but the volume of the substrate inside is larger than that of the particle board, which looks like a sheet. The advantage is that the material is uniform and the nail grip is good. The disadvantage is that the good European pine board is more expensive. Commonly used to make cabinets and doors. (PS: Modern style cabinet doors are often made)

Particle board

Also known as particleboard, as the name suggests, it is made of wood particles bonded with adhesive. This type of board is commonly used on the market and its various properties are relatively balanced. The advantage is that it's cheap! Aging resistance, balanced performance, but the disadvantage is that it cannot be shaped and the edges of the board are prone to water absorption and deformation. Commonly used to make cabinet bodies and doors

PS: Particle board may not necessarily be environmentally friendly, although it uses a lot of glue, the environmental protection level of good craftsmanship is also very high
